NASHVILLE, TN (June 29, 2009) – The American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) Middle Tennessee Chapter recently announced that it is awarding a total of $11,000 in occupational safety and health scholarships to nine college students studying in Tennessee and Kentucky.
The Scholarship Committee of the Middle Tennessee Chapter of the ASSE has selected the 2009 scholarship winners.
“In addition to the Harold F. Polston and Keith Bain scholarships, we are very pleased to be able to award seven more scholarships this year. Each of these scholarship recipients have met the high academic and eligibility requirements along with excelling in a challenging curriculum of Occupational Safety and Health”, said Ron A. Kirsch, Ph.D., Chair of the Scholarship Committee. “On behalf of the Scholarship Committee, congratulations to the winners!”
The following students from Middle Tennessee State University and Murray State University will be awarded $1,000 scholarships:
